Irish Coffee
I know there are many, many variations of this recipe, but this is how we make it. Another boozier variation is on this site - Double Irish Coffee - but this one is simple, easy to make, and actually uses ingredients that have been available in Ireland for many, many years. The key to this hot coffee drink is to make sure the whiskey is hot, or at least very warm. And, of course, to make sure it is Irish whiskey! The coffee should be strong, hot, and sweetened to taste. Traditionally the sweetener should be brown sugar, but white sugar works just fine as well!
3/4 cup hot coffee
3 tablespoons hot whiskey
1/4 cup sweetened whipped cream
Pour the hot coffee into a warmed Irish Coffee glass or heavy mug. Top with the whiskey and then the whipped cream. Serve immediately.
Makes 1 serving.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
