Caramel Apple-Almond Crepes

A great dish for dessert or breakfast, these filled crepes are quick and easy to make, full of wonderful flavor, and make any occasion special.

Lucky Four-Leaf Clover Shake

Every year we would eagerly await the arrival of early March so we could enjoy thick, minty green shakes from a popular fast food restaurant. Not only have those shakes been discontinued in most areas as far as we can tell, our version is even better than our memories of the pale green drink. We like garnishing this shake with whipped cream and green sprinkles - but fresh mint also makes a more elegant topper. Creme de menthe also makes a nice, grown-up addition to the shake - and the food coloring is optional for those who prefer a more natural shake.

4 cups vanilla ice cream
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract or a few drops peppermint oil
15 drops green liquid food coloring or to desired color

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Serve in chilled glasses.

Makes 6 servings.
