Smoky Barbecued Meat Loaf

Recipe submitted by Pat Harmon as part of our Summer 2003 recipe contest.

"Serve thick slices of Barbecued Meat Loaf on Kaiser rolls with Potatoes Au Gratin or Potato Salad and a Three-Bean Salad for an indoor picnic-like meal on a rainy holiday or anytime."

Editor's Note: We liked Pat's Smoky Barbecue Sauce so much we made it a stand alone recipe so those looking for barbecue sauces for other dishes could find it.

3/4 pound ground beef
3/4 pound ground pork
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 eggs
2 teaspoons ketchup
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
