"This is a recipe from one of my cousins. I tried it first about a year ago and have made it several times since then. They're very tasty and nice and fancy looking for company too."
Baking potatoes (as many as you want)
1 tablespoon of butter per potato (melted)
Salt, pepper, basil, marjoram (or any other spice or spice mix you'd like)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Peel potatoes and cut each potato crosswise into 1/4 inch slices, being careful to cut each slice only 3/4 of the way through the potato. Place in baking pan with the sliced side up. Pour all the butter equally over each potato. Sprinkle with spices. Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are golden and slices are fanned out, occasionally brushing potatoes with butter in pan.
