Flourless Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream and Raspberries

Flourless Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream and Raspberries

Diet, Schmiet. Some foods are worth breaking New Year's Resolutions - and this cake definitely fits the bill. Delicious, decadent, and drop-dead gorgeous, this cake is one of my favorite go-to recipes whenever I need the perfect finale for a celebratory meal.

Curried Onion Rounds

These are so easy it seems almost sinful to include a recipe for them. They make a wonderful appetizer that is different and pleasing to the palate. I personally love these served with a side of tart cranberry relish, but most people just snap them up plain. They are also an excellent recipe to make with leftover turkey. Just use a small slice of leftover turkey (or chicken) underneath the onion and proceed as directed. Scrumptious!

1/2 pound pearl onions
1/3 cup mayonnaise
Curry powder to taste
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon minced chives
1 loaf pumpernickel cocktail bread

Thinly peel and slice the pearl onions. In a small bowl mix together the mayonnaise, curry powder, salt, pepper, and chives. Place an onion slice on each slice of pumpernickel bread and set on a large cookie sheet. Dollop with a small amount of the mayonnaise mixture and broil until golden brown and bubbling.

Makes 6 servings.
