Floral Arrangement of the Month

June - Daisies! Daisies! Daisies!

For some reason I always associate June with daisies. While late June is devoted to roses and roses finally become affordable to have in the house, early June is definitely devoted to daisies.

Daisies are one of my favorite flowers, and I use them a lot in arrangements and décor. They even played an important role in my wedding. I like them so much we will probably have a large feature devoted to them exclusively soon. Daisies are very hardy and I have been able to keep some arrangements for almost a whole month! Try that with some less hardy blooms.

This bouquet is simple and easy to arrange…you just plop the daisies in a big vase. We used a antique vase from our collection because we used the arrangement for a formal occasion…and that is also what was the perfect size. The arrangement is also charming in a pitcher, clean empty jar, or other large container.

Fill the vase with water and floral preservative. Cut the stems of the daisies to their desired length, and remove any leaves that would be submerged. Place the daisies in the water. Keep in a cool place and your arrangement should last at least two weeks. Make sure to change the water at least every three days.
