Recipe of the Week

Angel Hair Nests with Olive Eggs

Angel Hair Nests with Olive "Eggs"

Perfect for spring, this easy and delicious recipe makes a great appetizer, side dish, or entree and will add a bit of whimsy to your spring table. And all in just about 15 minutes total time!

Maple Sugared Bacon

At first everyone is skeptical about this recipe…maple sugar and bacon? The second they try them you had better plan on putting more in the oven and copying the recipe because everyone really loves this special treat. If you are making bacon for more than one guest, simply multiply the ingredients…the rest of the recipe remains the same no matter how much bacon you are cooking. Maple sugar can be found at many stores in the baking or breakfast section, but brown sugar can be substituted if desired.

2 slices bacon
2 teaspoons maple sugar

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil. arrange the bacon on the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the bacon slices to a dish and drain off all of the fat. Dust the bacon with the maple sugar (or if preparing a large amount of bacon, roll the bacon in a pie plate filled with the sugar). Return to the baking sheet and bake until crisp and browned, about 10 minutes more. Cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Makes 1 Serving.
