Stuffed Monster Heads
Low Fat Halloween Tortilla Chips
While these chips may not be quite as tasty as the fried chips, they are very good and have much less fat and calories. Best of all they store a long time making them perfect to make well ahead of time for parties or for snacking. They are still much better than commercial low fat tortilla chips. By adding food coloring to the water before dipping the tortilla wedges you can make fun colored tortilla chips. You can also cut the tortillas into fun Halloween shapes rather than wedges. Use the trimmings as a topping for soup or salad. For a non-lowfat version try Halloween Tortilla Scoops.
12 6 inch corn tortillas
crushed red pepper
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Cut the tortillas into 6 wedges apiece. Dip each wedge into water and place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with desired spices and bake for 3 minutes. Flip the chips over and bake until crispy. These store for much longer, about 2 weeks.
