Valentine's Day Dinner Menu for the Noncook by Wen Zientek-Sico
Looking for the perfect gift for that special someone but are all thumbs in the kitchen? Try this very easy menu that even the most inexperienced cook can handle.
One of the most special gifts you can give your special someone is a special dinner made with your own little hands. Especially if you are someone who does not normally cook. Knowing that you took the effort to make a special dinner that you normally would not do will be sure to melt your Valentine's heart!
Our menu is very simple and easy and perfect for the novice cook. All of the recipes are simple and require inexpensive and very easy to find ingredients. It can be served as is, or additional dishes can be added, like a simple appetizer or salad. Some good, simple choices for appetizers would be Easy Herb Cheese Dip, Lobster or Crab Melts, Bruschetta, or Mushroom and Cream Cheese Canapés. For a salad, you can visit a salad bar, use a prepackaged salad mix, or try one of these simple recipes: Simple Olive Dijon Salad, Spring Salad, Watercress and Belgian Endive Salad with Orange Vinaigrette, or Hearts and Flowers Salad. Remember that many of these recipes serve more than two people so you will need to reduce the salad ingredients and will probably have leftover dressing.
Wine Recommendation
This menu is very versatile when it comes to wine choices. Quite literally, anything goes. Choose your favorite wine, or the wine that your valentine likes best and it will work with this menu. Don't have a favorite wine? Look for a dry Chardonnay if you would like to serve a white or a medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon if you would prefer a red.
