Flourless Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream and Raspberries

Diet, Schmiet. Some foods are worth breaking New Year's Resolutions - and this cake definitely fits the bill. Delicious, decadent, and drop-dead gorgeous, this cake is one of my favorite go-to recipes whenever I need the perfect finale for a celebratory meal.

A great dinner for Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, this menu relies upon a succulent caramelized ham that is just out of this world. Paired with festive but easy side dishes and fun drinks and desserts, this is a terrific family-friendly menu for the holidays.

Christmas HamFor many families, it just wouldn't be Christmas without a festive ham dinner. This menu features a very tasty Southern-style coca cola basted ham, festive beverages and appetizers, and simple side dishes for a meal that is special, while still relatively hassle-free for the cook. Dinner is followed by two easy make-ahead desserts that the whole family will love.

Menu Plan


1-2 days in advance:

Prepare the Creamy Cucumber Dill Dip.
Prepare the Cherry-Cinnamon Apple Cider.
Bake the potatoes for the Double Stuffed Crispy Potatoes.
Prepare the Caramel Apple Cheesecake Pie.
Prepare the Two-toned Strawberries and Cream Gelatin Molds.

Six hours before serving:

Prepare the Candy Cane Breadsticks.

Three and a half hours before serving:

Prepare the Southern Style Cola Basted Ham.

Two hours before serving:

Prepare the Creamy Corn Pudding.

One hour before serving:

Combine the liquids for the Creamy Raspberry Punch.
Finish the Double Stuffed Crispy Potatoes.

Half hour before serving:

Prepare the Vegetable Ribbons.

Immediately before serving:

Add the ice cream and sherbert to the Creamy Raspberry Punch.
Reheat the Cherry-Cinnamon Apple Cider.
Reheat the Candy Cane Breadsticks.
Carve the Southern Style Cola Basted Ham.
